Superheaters and reheaters are an important part of gas boilers, both of which increase steam enthalpy and thus increase boiler thermal efficiency.
The function of the superheater is to heat the saturated steam to superheated steam having a certain temperature.
The function of the reheater is to heat the exhaust gas of the high pressure cylinder of the steam turbine to a reheating temperature equal to (or close to) the temperature of the superheated steam, and then send it to the intermediate pressure cylinder and the low pressure cylinder for expansion work.
